Awakening Initiative For Refugees (AIR) is located at block 75, Kyebitaka village, in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Kikuube district, Uganda.
It is a fully registered Community Based Organization (CBO) that legally operates in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement.
Under the CBO’s management are two very important projects whose existence is more than a blessing to and for both refugee and host communities. The two projects were a brainchild of Gideon, but their inception and continuity has been due to the kindness and generosity of Heulwen, her family, friends and their charity called Refugee Relief Ynys Mōn based in Anglesey, Wales in the United Kingdom.
We are currently running two projects, A Community library and a tailoring school.
The library is used both by members of the refugee community as well as those from the host community (Ugandan nationals living outside the camp). It is mainly open to students and teachers.

The tailoring school takes 10 learners for every 3 months. We are yet to begin awarding certificates, but that means we have 4 intakes in a year.
All the students who access the tailoring school are teenage mothers who were forced to drop out of school due to early/unwanted pregnancies.
Once funds allow, it would help a lot if We could expand the tailoring school so that we are able to teach more child mothers.
Please visit AIR-history to read more on our background.
We need to secure a total of UGX 800,000 or £170 Each month to pay the wages of the librarian, the tailor and the night watchman. all three individuals are vital to ensure the smooth running of the project.
Please send your donation using details from our

Your kindness and generosity will go a long way in ensuring that the projects run smoothly. Thank you very much.
